You keep the client and the accounts, tax and compliance work. I add analysis your client needs that sits outside a year-end engagement.
Where I help your clients
- A business cash flow forecast or business plan. For a bank, a Start Up Loan, a grant funder or the board, built from your client's accounts and your figures where they exist.
- A view of how the business is really doing. Earnings, cash and the balance sheet read the way a lender or buyer will read them, with peer benchmarking in every report.
- Preparing to borrow or sell. The business loan review and the sale readiness review, so your client goes to market with the questions already answered.
What I leave with you
I do not do accounts, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, audit, valuations or legal work, and I will not pitch them to your client. I work from your client's accounts and copy you in if they agree. I never approach your clients about anything else.
Introducer fee
For accountants and bookkeepers only, I pay 10% of the fees a new client pays me in their first 12 months, once each invoice is paid. It is never added to your client's price and it is disclosed to the client in writing. You follow your own body's rules on disclosure. I can instead take the same 10% off the client's invoices as a discount.
How an introduction works
- You send an email with the client's name and what they need, or they contact me and mention you.
- I speak to the client for ten minutes, or take the brief by email.
- A fixed quote goes to the client in writing, copied to you if they agree.
- First draft in 5 working days, one round of changes, then the final PDF.
Standing and confidentiality
I am an ICAEW Chartered Accountant with a practising certificate, bound by the ICAEW Code of Ethics, with professional indemnity insurance. Your client deals with me directly and the engagement letter is between me and the client. Nothing is shared back to you without the client's agreement, and an NDA is available on request.
