Refer a client who needs a plan or forecast, without the risk to you
I prepare the document, your client deals with me directly, you stay informed if they want you to, and I never compete for their accounts, tax or legal work. Fixed fees in writing, first draft in five working days.
What I do, and what I leave alone
- I only prepare three things: cash-flow forecasts, business plans and feasibility studies.
- I do not do accounts, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, audit, valuations or legal work, and I will not pitch them to your client.
- I work from your figures where they exist. Last accounts, management accounts, your forecast template if you have one.
- No referral fees, paid or received. Your client pays me for the document and nothing else changes hands. If that ever changed it would be disclosed to the client in writing, as the ICAEW Code requires.
- Professional standing: ICAEW chartered accountant with a practising certificate, professional indemnity insurance with Hiscox, bound by the ICAEW Code of Ethics.
What brokers and banks get
- Lender-ready, first time. Monthly cash flow, the low point and headroom, debt service cover, VAT and tax on the right dates, a downside case.
- Your template if you have one. I will complete a bank's or broker's own cash-flow template from the same model, so the numbers agree.
- Start Up Loans packs complete: plan, cash-flow template and personal survival budget.
- The spreadsheet is handed over unlocked, so the client, or you, can update it later.
Five steps, and you choose how involved to be
You introduce
An email with the client's name and what they need, or they contact me and mention you. Either works.
I speak to the client
A free 10-minute call, or the brief by email if they prefer. I don't chase them; one follow-up, then I leave it with you.
Fixed quote
In writing to the client, copied to you if they agree. The engagement letter is between me and the client.
First draft
To the client and, with their agreement, to you. Your comments are welcome; you know the business.
Submission
Two rounds of changes, then the final PDF and Excel, in whatever form the lender or broker wants.
Fees your client will pay
Christmas offer, until 31 January 2027: cash-flow forecast from £450 · business plan from £650 · feasibility study from £1,050. From 1 February 2027: £650, £950 and £1,500. No VAT. Fixed in writing before any work starts. Nothing up front: invoiced when the final version is ready, payable within 7 days, final files released on payment.
What moves a fee above the "from" price: more than one trading company or revenue stream, forecasts beyond three years, or research beyond desk research. I will tell the client, and you, before quoting.
Data and confidentiality
I am the data controller for information the client gives me, under my own privacy notice. Nothing is shared back to you without the client's agreement, and nothing goes to a lender except through the client or at their instruction.
Client files are kept for six years after the engagement, in line with professional record-keeping requirements, then deleted.
